We won't be fooled again

Since the dawn of man the sunset has always held a special place in our hearts. It is the long rest, the full retreat, the long road we all must walk. But the question is, what was before and what was after.

Before the dawn there was the birth of the sun, the shaping of the earth, the dance that eventually locked us into a warm spot close to the sun.

Was it chance? Was it intentional? Was it inevitable?

This seems like the perfect year for capturing radio signals from outer space.

We will find that, much like us on Earth, the aliens like mellow grooves over a swirling solar system.

A Shoe and a Shovel

you will trip on your laces
and almost fall on your face as
you twirl around slipping
while needlessly gripping

a shovel and rake
what a senseless mistake
as you intend to clean
the walkway you've seen

covered up with some snow
and where does time go
as you fall to the ground
and make an odd sound

and as you look up
and see high above
does that cloud appear
to look like a deer?

and why did you go
outside in the snow
did you think it would do
to wear just one shoe
